FPC Bryan also known as Bryan Federal Prison is a minimum security women’s federal prison located at 1100 Ursuline Avenue, Bryan, Texas operated by the South Central Region of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the U.S. Department of Justice. FPC Bryan houses 893 female federal inmates sentenced and charged with Federal Crimes in U.S. District Court.

Housing: FPC Bryan is a Minimum Security Federal Prison Camp. Inmates are housed in dormitory style 2 person bunkbeds as well as 4 and 8 person cubicles. Storage space in most units consists of an individual locker. Locks may be purchased in the institution commissary. The amount of personal property allowed is limited to those items, which can be safely placed in the space designated.
Religion: There are facilities for worship services, prayer and study areas, offices, and a religious library. FPC Bryan provides services and programs to Christian, Jewish and Muslim inmates.
FPC Bryan religious services department has a Catholic chaplain, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam to provide to religious of inmates. Volunteers from the cities of Bryan, College Station, and Benchley, help orchestrate services for other religious groups. Inmates can wear religious items, and the facilities observe different holy days, and also accommodate to any dietary restrictions for various faiths.
Medical: FPC Bryan has a full-time medical staff on hand and/or contract medical workers from nearby cities. FPC Bryan provides care for inmates who may experience any medical emergencies. In the event institution staff is unable to care for an inmate’s medical needs, inmates may be sent to the Bryan Medical Center and St. Josephs Regional Hospital along with various hospitals in the Bryan metropolitan area for medical care.
Jobs: FPC Bryan inmates work positions that involve working in food, carpentry, electric, heating, ventilation & air conditioning, landscape, paint, plumbing, utility and general maintenance. A UNICOR job program employs 283 inmates in assembly, warehousing, and distribution.
Education: FPC Bryan inmates without a high school diploma or General Educational Development.
Credential (GED) must attend the BOP Inmate Literacy Program to obtain their GED. FPC Bryan inmates who are non-English speaking must take the (ESL) English As A Second Language Inmate Program.
The FPC offers advanced occupational education in cosmetology and horticulture and apprenticeship programs in dental assisting.
Blinn Community College offers Bryan inmates the opportunity to earn a one-year certificate in information management, medical transcription/coding, small business administration, accounting, HVAC, Microsoft Office and food management.

Bryan is a city with a population of 79,000 in Brazos County. Bryan is located 180 miles south of Dallas, TX, and 100 miles northeast of Austin, TX. The facility is located off of Texas Highway 6.
Driving Directions: If your visitors are entering the city of Bryan on Earl Rudder Freeway, turn West onto William Joel Bryan Parkway. Turn right on Villa Maria Street, (which becomes Ursuline Avenue). FPC Bryan is 1.5 miles on the right. If entering the city of Bryan from Texas Avenue (Business 6) turn East on 23rd Street. The institution is located where 23rd Street becomes Ursuline Avenue. The city of Bryan is serviced by several taxi companies, Greyhound Bus Co., and Easterwood Airport.

Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. (Visitors must enter before 3:00 P.M.)
Federal holiday: 8:00 A.M. – 3:00 P.M. (Visitors must enter before 1:00 P.M.) Federal holidays are New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. These hours are subject to change based on the institution needs.

Inmates are not allowed to receive packages from home without prior written approval from the inmate’s unit team or authorized staff member at the institution. The only packages an inmate may receive from home are those containing release clothing and authorized medical devices. However, inmates may receive magazines, hard and paperback books directly from the publisher.
FPC Bryan Inmate Telephone Calls
FPC Bryan inmates are authorized 300 minutes of prepaid phone use January thru October, and 400 minutes, in November and December. Inmates phone lists can contain 30 approved called numbers, and calls maximum 15 minutes in length. VAC Communications contracts prison call services to the Bureau of Prisons and FPC Bryan.
