Women’s Minimum Security Camp & Low FCI

FCI Alliceville also known as Alliceville Federal Correctional Institute is a low security women’s federal prison with an adjacent female minimum security Camp located at 11070 Highway 14, Aliceville, Alabama 35442 operated by the Southeast Region of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP), a division of the U.S. Department of Justice. FCI Alliceville houses 1223 female federal inmates and the adjacent minimum security Camp houses 258 federal female inmates sentenced and charged with Federal Crimes in U.S. District Court.

Housing: FCI Aliceville is a Low Security Federal Prison with an adjacent Minimum Security Satellite Camp. Both house inmates in dormitory style 2 person bunk-beds as well as 4 and 8 person cubicles. Storage space in most units consists of an individual locker. Locks may be purchased in the institution commissary. The amount of personal property allowed is limited to those items, which can be safely placed in the space designated.

Religion: FCI Aliceville provides services and programs to Christian, Jewish and Muslim inmates.

FCI Aliceville religious services department has a Catholic chaplain, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam to provide to religious of inmates. Volunteers from the cities of Columbus and Tuscaloosa help orchestrate services for other religious groups. Inmates can wear religious items, and the facilities observe different holy days, and also accommodate to any dietary restrictions for various faiths. FCI Aliceville offers a specialized program called Life Connections.

The Life Connections Program (LCP) is open to inmates seeking grounding in positive values and responsibility, whether or not they have a religious affiliation. It is a residential program that is only located at five different Institutions throughout the Bureau of Prisons. Inmate participants in (LCP) live in the same housing units as other inmates and work in the same job assignments in the mornings.

However, in the afternoons, evenings and weekends, LCP participants separate into small groups for in-depth instruction and mentorship. Inmates must apply for this program, interview, have between 24 and 36 months left on their sentence, and be qualified to transfer to a LCP Institution.

Medical: FCI Aliceville has a full-time medical staff on hand and/or contract medical workers from nearby cities. FCI Aliceville provides care for inmates who may experience any medical emergencies. In the event institution staff is unable to care for an inmate’s medical needs, inmates may be sent to the Pickens County Medical Center in Carrollton, Alabama for medical care.

Jobs: FCI Aliceville inmates work positions that involve working in food, carpentry, electric, heating, ventilation & air conditioning, landscape, paint, plumbing, utility and general maintenance.

Education: FCI Aliceville inmates without a high school diploma or General Educational Development Credential (GED) must attend the BOP Inmate Literacy Program to obtain their GED. FCI Aliceville inmates who are non-English speaking must take the (ESL) English As A Second Language Inmate Program. The education department offers classes in corporate law, Spanish, small business and political science and college correspondent courses.

Take Interstate20/59 from Tuscaloosa, AI toward Meridian MS ,to Exit 40 Euta/Aliceville turns right toward Morgantown, Turn Right on Highway 14 East. Take this for approximately 20 miles into the town of Aliceville. Make a left turn on Highway back to Highway 14 West turn right on Highway 14 West go for approximately 6 miles SCP Aliceville is on the right hand side of the highway turn into the complex the SCP parking will be on the right side of the road.


Visiting is conducted at the FCI and the Camp on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Federal Holidays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Federal holidays are New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King’s Birthday, President’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. These hours are subject to change based on the institution needs.

Inmates are not allowed to receive packages from home without prior written approval from the inmate’s unit team or authorized staff member at the institution. The only packages an inmate may receive from home are those containing release clothing and authorized medical devices. However, inmates may receive magazines, hard and paperback books directly from the publisher.
